patience

I am oh so ready for our baby to be born. My due date is still two weeks away. It's a long wait for all of us. Today Em and Alybug helped me pack our hospital bag. We have our plans in place, and now we just wait. I'm trying for a VBA2C- I'm hopeful and anxious and excited and scared. Waiting is hard for me. The unknown is hard for me too. And waiting for the unknown- well that's really hard. I'm getting lots of practice living in the moment.

The girls and I are having fun creating for baby. This sweater pattern came from One Skein Wonders. I finished a couple days ago and Em came over and snapped this photo. I have also knitted booties, socks, and a couple hats. Today the girls and I snazzed up our burp cloths with this idea, using random scraps of fabric from other sewn creations of theirs. They had great fun with it. A few other things I have on my list to make if we do wait another 2 weeks- these fabric balls, these bibs, a bonnet for baby and some simple sundresses. For the big girls who will wait with my mom or some friends for part of my labor (they want to be there for the birth), I made something like these- only bigger, to be more like sachets, with a pocket on front instead of a button and I tucked a note inside each pocket. I will have my mom give them to the girls and they can feel a little extra love from Mommy.

Another fun photo of late- Belle and Toby are often ponies- here Alybug and Em are driving Belle as a cart pony. Love those azaleas in the background- the blooms are falling off now. Toby often finds himself in crossties, being groomed.
