Summer fun

Time moves quickly and slowly at the same time. Some of these long hot summer days are just creeping by. And yet, as a whole, they're flying by me. Owl will be two months old tomorrow. She's smiling and cooing at us now and that's great fun for all. Alybug and Em are thriving as big sisters. They love to help take care of the baby, help cook dinner, unload the groceries, send an email to Daddy with a request of mine, and the list goes on. My, how they're growing up, these girls of mine. Pumpkin loves to take care of the baby- as for the other helpful things, well, she's not so enthusiastic about them.

Big fun for us on the 4th of July again in our driveway.

We spent a few days at Cape San Blas last week. The beach was oil-free. The weather was lousy- no sunsets or stargazing with all the clouds and rain, but we still had a fun time. Owl slept with the ocean sounds. Pumpkin, Alybug, and Em could have played endlessly in the surf and waves. From the lighthouse, some boom could be seen. I don't quite understand how this boom helps protect the beaches, but we saw it all along 98 on the drive over. We sent cut up and hemmed t-shirts to help clean the animals through crafthope. I think it helped the girls to feel like they could offer something to help with the devastation they keep hearing about. Alybug included a note in our box of rags, suggesting that the rehabilitated animals be sent to Sea World. I am overwhelmed at the extent of the loss of marine life.
