Pumpkin is playing city league soccer this year for the first time. She struggles her way through the practices, saying afterward that she didn't get enough turns with the ball. That wouldn't be unusual except that at home, she has little respect for the concept of taking turns. With her sisters, she regularly insists on more than her fair share. She uses her voice and her little strong body to get what she wants. But on the soccer field, she waits for her turn.
